The breed

The Wheaten terrier are of Irish descent. It has a very soft and wavy coat, that needs to be taken good care of. The coat of an adult dog needs combing to the bottom at least twice a week and a bath about once a month, otherwise the coat will hung in tangles. The coat also needs regular cutting. The puppy needs combing every day so it will be used to this procedure. A Wheaten is a soft and cosy dog at the outside but a hard boiled and selfconfident with it´s own ideas at it´s inside. As a Wheaten owner you need to understand it´s sense of humor to appreciate your four legged friend. The Wheaten terrier loves humans to follow you everywhere and to do all sorts of things. The Wheaten is a very social and cheerful breed and it´s very devoted to it´s own family.
